One year ago today American Hero's Cpl. Kory Wiens & MWD Cooper gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom

July 6, 2007 Cpl. Kory Wiens and MWD were KIA in Muhammed Sath, Iraq.  They are the only team(Handler and dog) to be KIA together since the War in Iraq and Afghanistan has begun.  

Below, I added another video of Kory & Cooper titled, "Kory and Cooper after a long mission."  Kory referred to Cooper as, "His son."  Watch the video's of them, and you can just see the love and adoration he had for Cooper.

Always remember our Hero's because remembering keeps their memories alive!

John Burnam Monument Foundation

John Burnam, Founder of the National War Dog Monument, is hard at work again, or I should say as ALWAYS.  My friend John who is the Author of, "Dog Tags of Courage," is such an amazing man!  He works so incredibly hard for our Nation's for legged Soldier's.

His foundation, "John Burnam Monument Foundation," has a new website, and is currently under construction.  Their objective is to provide insight into the historical and heroic legacy of the U.S. Military Working Dog Team and their contribution to the defense of our nation's freedom.

Funds for their foundation "JBMF" will be used for education and to help assist the goal of the National War Dogs Monument, Inc. to establish and maintain the monument.

Quote by John Burnam, "It is the first time in our nation's U.S. Military history that an animal, a dog, has been elevated to national monument status by law."

A wonderful book to mail to our Troops!

     I'm always searching for a good book or two to mail to my Soldier's and Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan along with their care packages.  I know they love when I send funny jokes via email.

Adam Leigh Cann Canine Facility Dedication Ceremony 3/28/08

On 3/28, I had the privilege and honor of attending this amazing dedication in honor of fallen K9 Handler, Adam Leigh Cann.  The Dedication was held in Barstow, CA., where I got to meet the Leigh and Carol Cann for the very first time, which was amazing!  I can't say enough about this proud and loving family!

The ceremony was beautiful!  Their was a Major General, The Mayor, and other high ranking Marines in attendance.  My friend and Marine, Lcpl. Granado(K9 Handler)brought MWD Bruno, who was with Sgt. Cann when he was KIA in Iraq.  When the National Anthem was sung, Bruno howled the entire song which made the Ceremony all the more special.  It was a day, I will never forget for an INCREDIBLE man & Marine that will always be remembered in my heart!
